Join SLSAE on Tuesday, October 17 for lunch at McCormick & Schmick’s and be inspired to take a closer look at how your value proposition is viewed and how it connects with your shareholders.

One sales pitch rarely convinces all possible partners, clients, or customers. Does your organization change up the way it presents your good works and services to different audiences? Sometimes even your closest friends and supporters can’t explain how your programs and services create value for the community and for your partners. And if people don’t realize the value of your work, it’s that much harder to achieve your mission.

So what do we do about it? Join SLSAE and Christy Maxfield, MBA, CFRE, President & CEO, Purpose First Advisors at our luncheon on Tuesday, October 17.

Using tools like the business model and value proposition canvases, Christy will help us:

  • Unpack our assumptions about which of our organization’s value propositions resonate with our stakeholders,
  • Clearly communicate the most meaningful information to each audience. This session will use case studies to explore how your organization can test value propositions to find the right audience fit and help improve program outreach and goals.

About Our Speaker:
Purpose First Advisors specializes in helping people and organizations become opportunity-attuned. By learning to analyze your world from a solutions-based lens you can bring value and be valued where and when it matters most.

President & CEO Christy Maxfield started her entrepreneurial journey in the spring of 2010 when she left her position as director of development at Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) to co-found The Mission Center. In less than four years, a relentless pursuit of excellence enabled the Mission Center to win the 2011 business plan competition hosted by the St. Louis Economic Partnership (formerly the St. Louis Economic Development Corporation) and generate more than $550K in revenue in 2013. In November 2013, the St. Louis Regional Chamber presented the inaugural Arcus Award to The Mission Center for innovation and entrepreneurship. During that same time, she coached more than 3 dozen entrepreneurs, many of whom went on to win the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition at Washington University.

After a brief engagement with Visiting Nurse Association to lead its public offering, Christy joined the Center for Emerging Technologies (CET) in June 2015. First as Director of Entrepreneur Development Services and now as Program Consultant, she works with entrepreneurs across a wide spectrum of technology, bioscience and consumer/manufactured ventures to promote the development of new companies in Missouri. Christy is also Innovation Advisor with Atomic Revenue where she has co-created the Revenue Diagnostics Program to help clients improve their sales and profitability.

Christy teaches entrepreneurship at UMSL and Washington University in St. Louis and co-hosts the Entrepreneurially Thinking podcast where listeners are invited to meet amazing individuals and be entrepreneurial wherever they are. Between podcast interviews, revenue operations programs, college courses, speaking engagements and consulting gigs, Christy gets to meet and work with more than 100 entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs each year.

Christy is Treasurer of the Forward Through Ferguson Board of Directors and an advisor to Mavuno, MEDLaunch and We Stories. She earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Webster University and her Bachelors in political science from Montclair State University.
