As more states legalize the use and possession of recreational and medical marijuana, companies and organizations are left with unanswered questions about how these new laws affect their drug testing practices and drug-free workplace policies.
- If and when should we test for marijuana? - Can drug tests detect whether someone is under the influence of marijuana at work? - Must we accommodate off-duty marijuana use under our disability laws? - When and how must we engage in the interactive process related to marijuana use? During this briefing, our speakers will provide an overview of the problems caused by drug use, the Missouri and federal laws on the subject, and potential liability for employers. We will also provide practical advice on the best HR practices and how to reduce the risk of a lawsuit.
