Program Title: Mental Health Tips for Association Staff and Members
The construction industry is one of the best industries out there, with some of the best individuals making up the industry. Although very rewarding it has been taboo to talk about what is responsible for taking the lives at a higher rate than anything else in the construction industry, suicide.
With the historical demographics of the industry taken in to account, it’s no wonder there has been a stigma that we can’t talk about what’s troubling us, our feelings, etc…
Since 2019 AGCMO has been working to break that STIGMA, by having the courage and compassion, through education and training to embrace the conversation. Our focus has been identifying warning signs, how to listen and respond, how to start a conversation and identify resources available to the work force; to instill HOPE, that You Are Not Alone. Attendees will come away with:
An overview of the current situation related to mental health and suicides in America
The costs related to implementing a staff or member program will be discussed and resources will be shared.
Tips will also be shared related to best practices for implementation and some easy next steps you can take.
