Program Title: Tax Reform: The Threats to Associations
Join SLSAE and ASAE for lunch and this presentation with leading advocates from ASAE and Integer to get the latest updates from Capitol Hill.
Presentation Summary: In 2025, Congress will consider legislation to extend tax policy changes enacted in 2017 in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). The cost of extending tax cuts is leading lawmakers to look for new sources of tax revenue, including through increased scrutiny on associations and other tax-exempt organizations.
ASAE recognizes that nonprofits are vital to our communities, providing food, medical care, education, and more. If Congress puts these essential community services at risk, nonprofits would be forced to cut programs, turn people away, or close their doors completely to those in need.
ASAE has convened the Community Impact Coalition to tell the story of nonprofits on Capitol Hill and encourage lawmakers to preserve nonprofit resources so they can continue to serve communities across the country.

Sara Barbra, Principle, Integer
